ScPrime is a fork of the Sia project, a new form of cloud storage business. Individual and smaller private data centers scattered around the world, replacing large regional data centers. Mixing different kinds and locations of storage (decentralized), creates a huge decentralized cloud storage platform. When using this "platform", data is divided into several parts, encrypted and distributed to many hosts, thereby providing extremely high durability, higher download performance and lower cost. ScPrime competes with traditional platforms such as Amazon S3, Google and Microsoft Azure for the small and medium business (SMB) storage model.
ScPrime Coin (SCP) is the cryptocurrency of the ScPrime platform, an application cryptocurrency for renting and hosting storage on the ScPrime cloud storage network.
