Marlin (POND) is an open protocol that provides high-performance programmable network infrastructure for DeFi and Web 3.0.
POND is Marlin's native utility token and has the following use cases:
Governance: POND token holders can vote on governance decisions, including the use of funds in the pool and the allocation of network resources.
Protocol Incentives: When users send or receive data in the Marlin network, they can earn POND tokens as rewards.
Mortgage: Nodes need to mortgage POND tokens to join and participate in the Marlin network.
Marlin is a layer 0 protocol that provides high-performance network infrastructure for decentralized blockchain networks. By optimizing the speed and scale of the blockchain at the network layer, Marlin aims to enable decentralized applications to have the same performance as the previous generation of Web 2.0 products.
Marlin, co-founded by former Microsoft, Samsung, Cisco engineers and researchers from MIT and Ethereum Foundation, is an open protocol that provides high-performance programmable network infrastructure for Web 3.0. It supports faster transfer of blocks, transactions, and data between miners, full nodes, and layer-0 users, making the dApp experience smoother and more convenient. The core of the Marlin protocol is a network of relay nodes that communicate using specialized path adjustment, dynamic flow control, and multi-path routing techniques to achieve superior performance on weakly connected networks. Being platform-independent, its plug-and-play network modules can interoperate with a wide range of consensus algorithms. Marlin's mission is to deliver Web 2-like performance in Web 3 without sacrificing core principles of decentralization and security.
Marlin has created a set of tools for developers and users, including:
Marlin SDK: Designed for developers of games, streaming media, and blockchain applications that require low-latency, one-to-many communication.
Marlin Cache: As a decentralized content delivery network, it is used to store the main requests from API information flow and data storage.
Marlin Gateway: Allows clients (traders), full nodes, miners, and validators to exchange large blocks and transactions through a low-latency relay network, thereby taking advantage of Gas Price Auctions, and at layer 0 with a higher Short block times scale the blockchain.
