Green United, LLC initially launched Project Green in 2017-2018. Since the project has been dispersed, Green United no longer manages the project. The "Green Distributed Governance Framework Charter" will be implemented in 2023, giving Green node owners the power to manage Green.

The backer of this project is Set Power Free. Set Power Free is a company building blockchain-based products and services on the green blockchain with an ambitious mission to decentralize the grid and provide renewable energy around the world.
