Crust provides a decentralized storage network for the Web3 ecosystem, supports multiple storage layer protocols including IPFS, and provides storage interfaces for the application layer. Crust's technology stack can also support a decentralized computing layer. Crust aims to build a distributed cloud ecosystem that values data privacy and ownership.
Crust provides a decentralized storage network for the Web3 ecosystem. Crust is developed based on Polkadot's Substrate technology framework and will serve users as Polkadot's decentralized storage parallel chain. Crust is a member project of Web3 Bootcamp and Substrate Builders Program, and has received a grant from the Web3 Foundation.
Crust supports multiple storage layer protocols, such as IPFS and FastDFS. Crust's Meaningful Proof of Work (MPoW) uses Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technology to reliably prove a node's storage workload. Crust's Secured Proof of Stake consensus (GPoS) is a PoS consensus that adds a guarantee mechanism.
The native token CRU in the Crust network is a functional token representing the value of the entire network. Similar to ETH in the Ethereum network or DOT in the Polkadot network. CRU has the following functions:
1. Staking maintains the GPoS consensus of the Crust network
2. Used to guarantee the selected node
3. As a contract guarantee and commission for providing resource services
4. As Transaction fees for using the network
5. Can be used to purchase resource services
6. Can be used for election and voting of the governance mechanism on the chain, and vote on proposals
