Blazecoin was officially launched on May 23, mailed directly to the International Fire Protection Association and released with local firefighters and volunteers to benefit volunteer firefighters. Most fire departments in the United States and around the world are volunteers. Some of these fire departments boost operating expenses through fundraising, "fill-in-start" campaigns and other creative initiatives. But due to zoning regulations and other obstacles, many fire departments have been unable to raise the necessary funds, and the arrival of Blazecoin has greatly eased this situation.
