Ara: A community-led decentralized distributed computing and content delivery platform. Ara can utilize the idle processing power, storage and bandwidth capacity of any device in the world, making it part of a global network of supercomputers, databases and transmissions. At the same time, these devices form the Ara Network, an ecosystem that anyone can join and benefit from.
Decentralized services created using Ara's SDK, called modules, can be bought, sold, requested, and redeemed on the Ara network. Module tasks can be outsourced to peer users within the network, and the other party can obtain Ara tokens as compensation after successfully completing the task. To facilitate an open and competitive marketplace, Ara allows service requesters to determine reward allocations or bounties for the services they request, and service providers to determine the minimum acceptable bounty amounts. Similar to Amazon Mechanical Turk, a crowdsourcing marketplace for tasks requiring human intelligence support, Ara builds a marketplace for outsourced distributed computing or networking tasks. Modules can be one-time on-demand tasks, such as distributed transcoding, or long-term recurring services, such as P2P multiplayer game servers.
Functionality
Ara tokens can be spent across the network in a variety of ways.
• On the consumer side, Ara tokens can be used to purchase a wide variety of content, from entertainment-oriented digital content to engaging new modules and more
• Service requesters can use Ara tokens to initiate job requests and set bounties for successful completion of these workers
• Service providers can pay Ara tokens as a deposit Promise to complete tasks in return for rewards (refundable deposit upon request, but no further rewards can be earned by the provider)
• Developers can use Ara tokens to deploy new modules within the network
Since these roles overlap heavily, service providers can directly use Ara Token rewards earned for completing missions to purchase new content, and developers can use Ara Tokens earned from selling modules to launch new content. work requests.
