APEX Network is a blockchain platform for the next generation of consumer applications - solving current problems around privacy, data exchange and ownership, consumer experience interaction, and value connection. The goal of APEX Network is to cultivate a deeper 1-to-1 B2C relationship through its own blockchain technology, so as to provide enterprises with newer and more optimized solutions to promote marketing, customer relationship management, improve customer loyalty and customer experience while maximizing the value consumers get from all B2C interactions.
CPX tokens are critical to the functioning of the ecosystem, as transactions on the network and access to consumer data require payment of CPX fees to the supernodes and data cloud nodes that maintain the network. In addition to running these types of nodes, token holders can earn CPX rewards for supporting supernodes by staking their tokens in voter nodes. Businesses running their own supernodes and sidechains need to hold a large amount of CPX tokens.
PEX Network's vision is to create a stronger 1-to-1 relationship between businesses and consumers through autonomous blockchain technology - changing the way interactive information and value are exchanged throughout the B2C process. APEX Network will help facilitate increased trust, privacy, and transparency in B2C interactions. It will also optimize effectiveness, cost and help eliminate intermediary networks where necessary.
Another key component of the APEX Network is connectivity, both in terms of the information connected and the value of the connection. When transacted using fair and transparent protocols, information and data can not only enhance B2C interactions and experiences, but also facilitate B2B data-level collaboration and exchange. Likewise, connecting and enabling the exchange of brand assets (such as tokens and points) on a frictionless platform provides key exchange access to some business alliances and collaborations that previously required non-automated and arduous commercial negotiation processes.
Brands and businesses will be able to quickly build and deploy decentralized applications across the entire customer lifecycle, including but not limited to marketing, customer relationship management, customer experience optimization, loyalty and customer insights.
The comprehensive framework of the APEX Network blockchain has three layers – the core blockchain layer, the service layer and the application layer. The core layer allows transactions, assets and dApps to reside flexibly on the main network or side network (side chain) to achieve scalability and ecological construction within the enterprise system. For businesses to create new tokens or assets, events must occur on the sidechain, while the main network still maintains a complete record of all transactions, and transactions across sidechains also need to occur through the main network. The main chain of APEX Network uses the Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism, and the side chain uses Proof-of-Stake (PoS).
The service layer acts as the building block of the actual application and facilitates data connectivity with real-world and external systems. Based on the RESTFul API, there will initially be 4 SDKs-- Java, Scala, Go and APEXm, an XML-based markup language and syntax system that enables rapid customization and deployment of decentralized applications. The combination of Scala, Java and Go was originally chosen considering the adaptability of enterprise-level applications, data-driven application applicability and overall performance.
APEX Data Connector (APEX Data Connector) is an enterprise-level data and API middleware established for use on the APEX Network smart contract system, service layer API and SDK. APEX Data Connectors make it easy to implement inbound and outbound data transfers and trigger certain external actions. This is done in a DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) logical structure through the YAML/XML-based API middleware syntax developed by Chuanglue Technology since 2016. This module is critical for building enterprise-level applications that require integration with existing legacy system data sources and platforms.
The application layer offers unlimited potential for various applications around the B2C customer life cycle such as CRM, marketing, customer experience enhancement, customer loyalty, gamification, data exchange, customer insights and other engagement related application. The two initial applications built by APEX will be CPX Wallet, and a cross-network decentralized exchange protocol (DEX) built into CPX Wallet for APEX Network-based asset exchange.
Sidechain
As one of the key unique features of the blockchain, APEX Network side chains, 1) do not need to be applied to the entire network for independent enterprise-level applications and scalability of localized transactions (in other words, for each enterprise user's own system) transactions); 2) Seamless asset transfers across the main network and various sidechains while keeping the "workflow" independent. The sidechains on the APEX Network use a two-way connection that can transfer CPX and other assets to the main network and sidechains.
If you want to create a side chain, an APEX node client must run on at least one server, and the client's master account must meet the minimum requirements for the number of CPX super nodes (an APEX Network side chain resume must be at least requires a supernode). Other public chains that can be connected to the side chain The sustainable main chain and the side chain use different technical systems, and the APEX Network side chain can be considered as a mini-version copy with a subset of the main network's functions and permissions (for example, the side chain cannot be created and index additional sidechains). We recommend that each enterprise user has at least one sidechain on APEX Network, depending on the size of the organization and the breadth of usage scenarios, including the APEX core development team creating corresponding sidechains for various initial projects and applications.
Consensus mechanism
APEX Network uses Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS) as the consensus mechanism for its main network, which uses a reputation system and real-time voting to reach consensus. Delegates (Super Nodes) must hold a minimum set amount of CPX to be eligible to be voted and selected. Once the super node status is achieved, their main roles include: 1) summarizing transactions on the main network into blocks; 2) verifying transactions by signing and broadcasting blocks; 3) solving consensus problems in a democratic manner. Typical supernodes on APEX Network are expected to be operated by the APEX core R&D team, enterprises/brands, specific strategic investors and application partners. In the initial stage of Mainnet launch, APEX and Chuanglue Technology will provide technical and operational support for setting up super nodes.
During transaction processing time, DPOS speeds up and minimizes the effort and resources required to run and secure the network. For the creation of sidechains to expand the main network, the POS consensus mechanism will be used – in a scalable way to build a sidechain ecosystem.
